To Resolve or Not to Resolve? Why I'm Skipping Resolutions (Again) in 2026
January 6, 2026

Do you have a New Year’s Resolution?
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by all the talk of New Year’s resolutions, you're not alone. I’m here to offer a different approach to kicking off 2026 - one that focuses less on drastic change and more on balance, intention, and joy.
Why I Don't Do Resolutions:
Let’s just say it: traditional resolutions tend to fizzle. They're often rooted in guilt or pressure: lose the weight, stop the habit, hit the goal, and they rarely take into account where we are in life right now. That’s why I’ve never been a fan.
Instead, I believe in setting intentions. They’re more flexible. They grow with you. And they keep you aligned with your values, not someone else's checklist.
This year, I’ve set these intentions for myself:
-
To live life more fully
-
To invite more intentional joy into each day
-
To balance my responsibilities with more fun
-
To share my experience and wisdom more fully with my clients
-
To write the next chapter of my story with intention, and go with the flow when life offers opportunities
It's not about reinventing yourself. It’s about showing up for your life in a way that feels right for you.
How to Set Intentions That Stick
Not sure where to begin? Start here:
-
Make two lists.
-
What’s not serving you (in life, health, or business)?
-
What is serving you that you want to do more of?
-
-
Look ahead with clarity.
You don’t have to plan the whole year. Maybe it’s just January. Or Q1. That’s great. Start where you are.
-
Embrace the shift.
Your intentions will evolve. Some things will work, some won’t. That’s not failure, that’s feedback. Adjust as you go. We call that failing forward.
Remember: This Is YOUR Year
Not your neighbor’s. Not your colleague’s. Yours.
What do you want? What matters most to you?
If you’re feeling a little unsure, I’m offering VIP Strategy Sessions this month to help you create a roadmap that supports your goals, your life, and your wellness, without the overwhelm.
As always, what I hope for you is that you live a life you love without giving up the things that bring you joy.
Here’s to a balanced and beautiful 2026.
