Should You Offer Products to Your Clients as a Wellness Professional?

Let’s talk about something that comes up all the time for people in the wellness world: Should you offer products to your clients? And what about becoming an affiliate for products?

Here’s the deal—I can share my perspective and why I feel the way I do, but at the end of the day, it’s your practice, and you should run it in a way that feels right to you. So, here’s how I approach it.

Recommending Products You Believe In

First and foremost, I only recommend products that I feel really good about. These are products I’ve vetted thoroughly, often ones I take myself, or at least have tried personally. It’s all about trust—I want to know that I’m offering something valuable and effective.

But let’s be real. There are times when clients need something I haven’t used myself. In those cases, I rely on recommendations from trusted colleagues. Of course, I’ll let my clients know that while I haven’t personally tried the product, it comes highly recommended by someone I trust. Transparency is key!

What About Affiliate Relationships?

I have affiliate relationships with a small group of companies whose products I genuinely believe in. These are products I use, love, and feel confident recommending. And yes, if clients purchase through my link, I earn a small commission.

Now, I know some people feel a little weird about this, so let’s clear the air. I don’t recommend products just to make a commission. That’s not how I roll. My ultimate goal is always my client’s success and well-being. Sometimes, the best product for the situation isn’t one I’m affiliated with, and that’s okay too. It’s all about abundance—there’s plenty to go around, and my focus is on getting my clients the results they need.

Real-Life Example: Breakfast Made Easy

Let me share a personal story. I believe breakfast is super important—you’ve got to eat within an hour of waking up to kickstart your day. But here’s the thing—I’m not a morning person (anyone who knows me can vouch for this!).

So, instead of fumbling around in the kitchen or skipping breakfast altogether, I’ve found a solution that works for me: I make a shake the night before. In the morning, I grab it from the fridge, drink it, and get on with my day. It’s quick, it’s easy, and it keeps me on track. After that, I move on to a more balanced, whole-food meal.

This is what it’s all about—finding practical solutions that fit your lifestyle. And that’s exactly what we help our clients do, isn’t it?

Running a Business with Integrity

At the end of the day, it’s important to run your business in a way that aligns with your values. For me, that means having a small list of go-to products that I believe in, and being upfront with my clients about why I recommend them.

For example, I love Zive 7. My family uses it, I use it, and I recommend it to clients. But I also know it’s not right for everyone. That’s why I have other options, and if none of those work, I’ll do the research to find something that does. It’s all about finding the right fit for each individual.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on this! What’s your approach to recommending products? Are you an affiliate for any that you swear by? Let’s share ideas and learn from each other.

And if you’ve got questions or want to chat more about this, book a call—I’m always happy to connect with fellow health pros. Remember, the goal is to live a life you love without giving up the things that bring you joy. Let’s help our clients do the same!
