Back to Basics: Resetting Your Food, Movement & Mindset Without Deprivation

As promised, September is all about our Back to Basics series.

Last week, we talked about preparing your environment, not with a detox, but by cleaning up your space and your mindset. And, like many of you, I discovered I had more to clear than I expected.

But now it’s time to get back to basics, in how I eat, move, and show up. Here's what that looks like for me (and how I coach my clients through the same reset).

Step 1: Revisit Your Food Foundations

Summer is a beautiful season, but it can also be one of loosened routines. And if you’ve found yourself making food choices that don’t support how you want to feel, you’re not alone.

I'm right there with you. Between life shifts and business changes, my body is definitely feeling the impact.

That’s why I’m going back to the basics of PFC-balanced eating:

  • Protein

  • Fat

  • Carbs

I'm focusing on meals every 3–4 hours, cutting down on inflammatory foods, and even exploring food sensitivity testing for more personalized insight.

This isn’t punishment, it’s support. For my body, my brain, and my energy.

Step 2: Recommit to Movement That Supports You

I've been walking daily (you know I love my walks!), but it’s time to reintroduce strength training into my routine.

No, this doesn’t mean hours in the gym.
For me, it looks like:

  • 20-minute sessions, 2–3 times a week

  • Lifting heavy enough to feel strong

  • Scheduling it like any other priority

Because strength supports longevity, metabolism, mental clarity, and overall confidence. And I want more of all of that.

Step 3: Mindset Reset Without Losing the Joy

Let’s be real: this is not about restriction.

I'm not cutting out everything that brings me joy, and I don’t want you to either.
But I will lovingly challenge you if you say, “The only things that make me happy are ice cream sundaes and wine.”

Let’s expand that definition.
What else brings you joy that also makes you feel amazing?
Walking? Dancing? Cooking nourishing meals? Dreaming up new offers in your business?

We can hold both joy and discipline. Both intention and freedom.

Bonus: Back to Business Basics

I'm also in planning mode for 2026, mapping out what I want to keep, release, and launch. That future vision is energizing and exciting, and it feeds my consistency in other areas, too.

Because when your wellness and your work are in sync, everything flows better.

This week, I invite you to pick one of these areas to focus on:

  • Food

  • Movement

  • Mindset

  • Business planning

And take one small step forward.
1% is enough.
And if you’ve got the energy to go further, great!

As always, what I hope for you is that you live a life you love without giving up the things that bring you joy. Until next week, ciao.
