Breaking the Loop – How to Reset When Life Feels Stuck
April 14, 2025

Let’s talk about loops—the ones we get stuck in when life is busy, stressful, or just plain overwhelming. Whether it's constant stress, late-night snacking, a stuck point in your business, or just a general feeling of spinning your wheels, we’ve all been there. And while working on gradually building positive habits is great, sometimes we need to do the opposite: break the loop with a pattern interrupt.
Wait, What’s a Loop?
A loop is that repetitive cycle we find ourselves in—mentally, physically, or emotionally. It can be something as simple as stress-induced snacking, or more complex like staying stuck in the same business strategy that isn’t working. When you find yourself asking, “What now?” or “Why do I feel so stuck?”—you’re probably in a loop.
Enter: The Pattern Interrupt
A pattern interrupt is just what it sounds like. It's a conscious pause—a decision to stop the cycle and reset. You don’t need to fly to a tropical island or blow up your schedule. It could be as simple as taking one full day for yourself. Clear your calendar. Get out of your normal environment. Skip the routine. Let your brain breathe.
Spend that time being intentional. Journal. Reflect. Walk. Meditate. Brain-dump the chaos onto paper. Think about what’s working, what’s not, and what needs to go. The magic here is in creating space—to hear yourself think and reconnect with what matters.
What Happens After the Interrupt?
That’s where the real reset happens. You come back with clarity. You’re ready to plan your next moves—not from a place of overwhelm, but from a place of intention. In my case, I took two days away with my business coach. It reminded me that while life is still stressful in other areas, my business isn’t one of them—because I took time to plan it intentionally.
Whether it’s your business, your wellness, your mindset, or your everyday stress—get honest about what’s no longer working. Then commit to small, doable changes, starting with one decision at a time. You don’t need a full overhaul. You need space to breathe and a plan that meets you where you are.
And if you want help creating that reset moment—for yourself or for your clients—I’m always here for a chat.
Because what I hope for you is a life you love, without giving up the things that bring you joy.
