How to Move Forward When Life Starts Looking Up

After months of talking about stress management and foundational habits, today I want to flip the script a little—let’s talk about what happens when things finally start looking up.

Maybe you’ve been stuck in a rut. Maybe life has thrown you curveballs. But now, the sun is shining (literally and figuratively), your energy is up, and some of your biggest stressors are resolving. You’re no longer just treading water—you’re ready to make real progress.

But here’s the thing: when treading water becomes your “normal,” it can be hard to know where to begin moving forward again.

Let’s change that.

How to Break Out of the Rut and Start Progressing Again:

✅ Start Simple:
Add a little more time to your workouts. Bump up the intensity a notch.
✅ Get Excited About New (or Old!) Activities:
Maybe it’s time to revisit something you used to love—or explore something totally new.
✅ Set Fresh Goals:
For example, I’m almost 12 weeks post-foot surgery and finally feeling ready to step back onto the pickleball court—slowly, casually, but excitedly. (And of course remember to start where you are, not where you wish you were!)
✅ Refresh Your Nutrition:
If you’ve been cycling through the same handful of easy meals, spice it up! Try a new local restaurant, cook a new recipe, or explore seasonal foods.
✅ Honor All 6 Plates:
Movement, nutrition, hydration, sleep, stress management, and supplementation still matter. I’m focusing more on hydration, extra foam rolling, mid-day mental breaks, and making space for joy.

The key?
When you feel that extra lightness in your energy, make it work for you.
Don't just pile more tasks on your to-do list. Do something meaningful that nourishes your—mind, body, and soul.

What’s one thing you’re excited to step back into this season? I’d love to hear it.

As always, my wish for you is to live a life you love without giving up the things that bring you joy.
