Hydration, Travel, and Enjoying Life Without Sacrifice

All month long, we’ve been going Back to Basics. And this week, we’re focusing on something that’s simple, powerful, and often overlooked: hydration.

But we’re taking a bit of a twist today. Because I’m letting you peek behind the scenes into my life and business as I prepare for an upcoming trip to Athens and Croatia.

Yes, we’re talking about hydration and how to stay well while traveling, eating amazing food, and still supporting your business.

Travel Can Be Dehydrating. Literally and Energetically

If you’ve ever taken a long flight, you know the feeling:

  • Dry skin

  • Brain fog

  • Exhaustion

  • Sleeplessness

  • Sluggish digestion

And a lot of that comes from dehydration.
Airplane cabins are notoriously dry, changing time zones confuses your rhythm, and let’s be honest, the new foods and local wine that are part of the experience can be dehydrating too.

So you have to be even more intentional with your hydration while traveling.

Here’s What I Do Before and During Travel

💧 Water Bottle + Shaker Bottle:
One for sipping all day. One for protein shakes (just in case I want a quickie breakfast or late-night meal).

🧂 Electrolytes:
I add them to my water to support hydration at a cellular level, especially after flights.

✈️ Movement During the Flight:
Staying hydrated means I have to get up and move, which also improves circulation and reduces stiffness.

💆 Massage After Arrival:
Yes, really! I book a massage to help my body reset and get circulation moving after the flight. (Yes, I’ve already got one on the calendar for the day I arrive in Athens.)

🌍 All the Foods (and Wines!)
I absolutely enjoy myself on trips, and I do it with intention. I eat local. I explore new flavors. I bring back ideas to share with clients. And I stay hydrated through it all.

Running a Business While Traveling? Yes.

Here’s the thing: I don’t put everything on pause when I travel.

I do take time off.
I do relax and unplug intentionally.
And I also stay connected to my clients and continue supporting them, because I’ve built a business model that allows for that.

If you’ve ever wondered how to run your business and enjoy your life without giving up wellness, I’m happy to share what’s working for me.

Bottom line: You can have it all. Hydration is one of the simplest but most important wellness habits.

So drink up. Plan intentionally. Be consistent.
And let me know how I can help you create the wellness habits and business habits you crave, at home or abroad.

As always, what I hope for you is that you live a life you love without giving up the things that bring you joy.
