Navigating the Seasons of Life Without Losing Your Balance
May 5, 2025

Let’s talk about seasons, not just the spring-summer-fall-winter kind, but the seasons of life we all move through. Sometimes we’re heads-down, chasing a big goal like training for a marathon or hitting new personal records in the gym. Other times, the season is about rest and recovery—mentally, emotionally, or physically. And usually, we’re somewhere in between.
Right now, I’m blending two seasons: the joy of social gatherings (yes, I’m still dreaming about that winemaker’s dinner!) and the drive to rebuild strength after foot surgery. I just got back to the pickleball court, and that’s the start of my next season, moving more, pushing a little harder, rebuilding my cardio and strength.
Here’s the key lesson I want to share with you:
No matter what season you’re in, your health foundation matters.
You don’t have to be “all in” or “all out.” Life isn’t black and white, it’s about shades of balance. You can focus on a goal and still enjoy the occasional indulgent dinner. You can be in a rest-and-recovery season without letting go of your core healthy habits.
What does that look like?
It means:
✅ Still eating nourishing food, even when your schedule is packed.
✅ Still finding ways to move, even if it’s differentthan usual.
✅ Still prioritizing hydration, rest, and recovery.
✅ Still keeping an eye on stress and managing it proactively.
These are your six spinning plates: nutrition, movement, hydration, sleep, stress, and supplements. When life shifts—because it always does—your plates might wobble, but you can always adjust. You don’t need perfection, you just need awareness and flexibility.
And let’s be honest, your future self will thank you for every small step you take today.
Whether you’re in a season of intense effort, joyful indulgence, or much-needed rest, make sure your foundational habits stay in sight. That’s how we continue to grow, thrive, and build a life we love without giving up the things that bring us joy.
