Seasons of Life: From Recovery to Rebuilding
May 13, 2025

LLife is a series of seasons. Not just spring, summer, fall, and winter, but seasons of focus, of rest, of growth, and of rebuilding. And right now, I’m moving from one season to another—from a season of recovery (post-foot surgery) to a season of rebuilding strength, endurance, and energy.
But here’s the thing: shifting from one season to another isn’t always easy. It’s not like flipping a switch. It’s about acknowledging where you are, setting your sights on where you want to be, and being intentional about the steps you take.
Recognizing Your Season
We all experience different seasons in life. Maybe you’re in a season of rest after a whirlwind of busyness. Maybe you’re in a season of growth, chasing a new fitness goal. Or maybe you’re simply maintaining balance, doing your best to keep everything moving.
No matter what season you’re in, it’s important to recognize it and respect it.
For me, recovery meant a lot of rest, gentle movements, and focusing on healing. But now, I’m ready to shift gears. I want to build back my strength, get back to playing pickleball without feeling winded, and reclaim the energy that makes me feel me again.
And No—It’s Not About the Number on the Scale
Let me be crystal clear: This isn’t about chasing a certain number. It never was.
What’s driving me isn’t the scale, it's the desire to feel good in my body, to move with ease, and to have the energy to live life fully. It’s about showing up for myself, because I deserve to feel strong and vibrant. I want to keep doing the things I love like pickleball, hiking, even traipsing up and down the stairs with those blue IKEA bags (IYKYK) a zillion times to help move my kiddo out of his dorm.
This work matters because how I feel matters. And I know that’s true for so many of you, too.
How to Transition Into a New Season
1️⃣ Set Clear Goals: What do you want to achieve in this new season? For me, it’s rebuilding strength and stamina so I can feel energized and empowered in my everyday life.
2️⃣ Take Small, Consistent Steps: Instead of diving straight into high-intensity workouts, I’m easing in with more walks, Pilates, and strength training. What’s your small step?
3️⃣ Stay Flexible: Life can be unpredictable. Maybe your goals shift, or maybe you need to slow down. That’s okay. Adjust as needed.
4️⃣ Celebrate Progress: Even the small wins matter. For me, it’s feeling stronger, playing pickleball without pain, or finishing a workout without feeling winded.
What Season Are You In?
I want you to take a moment and ask yourself: What season are you in right now? Are you in a season of rest, recovery, growth, or balance?
Whatever your season, it deserves your attention. And once you name it, you can be more intentional with your energy, your habits, and your focus.
If you’re ready to make the most of your current season and want some help setting goals, building healthy habits, or finding balance, let’s connect. Whether you’re someone striving for a healthier lifestyle or a wellness professional supporting others, this work is for you, too.
Because at the end of the day, it’s not about perfection. It’s about progress. And it’s about living a life that feels good—one season at a time.
As always, what I hope for you is that you live a life you love without giving up the things that bring you joy.
