The Joy of Less: Why I’m Choosing a Minimalist Holiday Season This Year
November 17, 2025

Let’s be honest - some years, we want to do all the things. The travel. The parties. The over-the-top gift buying. The packed schedules that somehow make the season feel magical… and exhausting.
And then there are years when less really is more.
This year, I’m choosing the quieter path. Not because I don’t love a good party or a sparkling Black Friday deal. But because it’s been a year. And on top of everything else, I recently had knee replacement surgery, and that means slowing down. Healing. And reevaluating what matters most this season.
The Power of a Pause
Recovery has gone better than I imagined (yay for strong systems, good preparation, and a great surgeon!), but it still requires focus and intention. And that has reshaped how I’m approaching the holidays.
This year, I’m skipping the mall madness.
I’m not hosting big gatherings or launching big promotions.
nstead, I’m leaning into simplicity; quiet dinners with my kiddo, movie nights, cooking together, and lots of cozy socks and tea.
Will I miss some of the glitz and glam of past years? Maybe.
But I also think this season might be even better, because it’s grounded in presence, not performance.
Minimalism Isn’t Lack. It’s Focus.
Choosing a minimalist holiday doesn’t mean you’re doing nothing; it means you’re doing what matters most.
For me, that’s:
-
Supporting my current clients with intention
-
Creating space to plan a meaningful Q1
-
Prioritizing recovery, family, and joy over hustle
-
Saying “yes” only to what aligns with my energy and values right now
The holidays don’t have to be a blur of events and endless errands. They can be rooted in connection, intention, and the kind of memories that linger long after the last piece of pie is gone.
What Season Are You In?
Maybe this is your year to go big, and that’s beautiful.
Maybe it’s your year to hibernate and reset.
Maybe it’s somewhere in between.
Whatever you choose - choose it mindfully. Let this be the season that fills you up instead of draining you dry.
And if you’re navigating your own version of a minimalist holiday and wondering what it could look like in your life or business, I’d love to hear from you. I’m not running a Black Friday special, but I am fully here to support my clients through the end of this year and into the next.
Stay tuned this month as I talk more about how to move, eat, drink, and connect through the holidays in ways that serve your body, your joy, and your sanity.
