The Missing Piece in Your Plan: What You’ve Been Avoiding

If you’ve been following along, you know…

I’m a planner.

I plan the important things in my year.
I plan the next tier of important things.
And I intentionally leave space for spontaneity.

That part? I’ve got down.

But today I want to talk about something most people don’t plan for.

And that’s this:

The areas of your life that feel unsettled.

The Natural Tendency: Avoid It

When something feels off…

Unclear.
Uncomfortable.
Out of alignment.

What do we usually do?

We avoid it.

We:

  • Focus on what’s already working

  • Lean into what we enjoy

  • Stay in the safe, familiar areas

And while that feels good in the moment…

It doesn’t create growth.

Joy Matters, And So Does Growth

You’ve heard me talk about creating more intentional joy in life.

More travel.
More time with people you love.
More of the things that light you up.

Of course yes, those things matter.

And if you want to continue growing…

You also have to look at what’s not working.

The Unsettled Areas

Sometimes those areas are small.

Maybe it’s:

  • A cluttered space in your home

  • A to-do list item you keep ignoring

  • A system that’s no longer working

Other times, they’re bigger.

Like:

  • Your nutrition and movement habits

  • Your energy levels

  • Your business not growing the way you want

  • Not attracting the right clients

These things don’t fix themselves.

They require attention.

Why Ignoring It Doesn’t Work

You can’t:

  • Wish it away

  • Avoid it indefinitely

  • Stay busy enough to not notice

Because that unsettled feeling?

It lingers.

And it quietly drains your energy over time.

The Power of Leaning In (Just a Little)

Now, I’m not suggesting you spend all your time in discomfort.

That’s not the goal.

The goal is this:

👉 Spend some time there
👉 Give it intentional attention
👉 Take small steps forward

Because on the other side of that discomfort…

Is clarity.
Is growth.
Is alignment.

Where Should You Focus?

Ask yourself:

Where am I feeling unsettled right now?

Is it:

  • Your health?

  • Your habits?

  • Your business?

  • Your environment?

Whatever it is…

That’s where your next layer of planning belongs.

You Don’t Have to Do It Alone

Sometimes, the hardest part isn’t knowing something needs to change.

It’s knowing how to change it.

That’s where support can make all the difference.

Whether it’s:

  • A coach

  • A practitioner

  • A guide

Getting help shortens the gap between where you are and where you want to be.

The Real Invitation

This isn’t about fixing everything overnight.

It’s about being honest with yourself.

And choosing to take one step into the area you’ve been avoiding.

Because that’s where the real shift happens.

So I’ll leave you with this:

Where are you feeling unsettled right now?

And are you willing to spend just a little time there?
